Global Learning Objectives for AD Pearls Program:
  1. Describe the role of beta amyloid peptide in Alzheimer pathology.
  2. Describe the risk factors, prevalence, differential diagnostic considerations, and economic burdens of dementia.
  3. Discuss important family expectations and cultural determinants for effective dementia care.
  4. Describe common barriers experienced by primary care physicians in delivering effective dementia care
  5. Describe important outcomes and side effects associated with use of antidementia drugs in mild to moderate-stage AD
  6. List features that identify increased risk for motor vehicle crashes in people with dementia
